Primed Timber, £25,000 order for an 11 storey office conversion.
Select Timber and MDF Products have won a contract with Jewsons to supply 40,000 metres of white primed softwood architrave and skirting as well as 6000 metres of white primed door lining material. The primed products are being used in the conversion of an 11 storey office block to in-town accommodation in Harlow, Essex. Delivery was scheduled into 11 batches, on a floor by floor basis to assist with restricted site storage facilities and to guarantee that the product is in prime condition when required.
Ready primed products are becoming increasingly popular as they are supplied with a consistent paint cover and an evenness of colour. This also reduces the contractors' reliance on site preparation.
The two priming lines at Select Timber and MDF Products produce approximately 8,000,000 metres of primed products per year using water based acrylic primer and are capable of coating products up to 450mm in width.
